American Heart Association First-aid Training
Course Name: Heartsaver First-aid
Course Length: 2 hours
Certification: American Heart Association
Cost: $70 (cash or check made to STS)
Card valid: 2 years, receive on day of course
Location: 2076 University Avenue, Suite B, Berkeley
Description: Students learn about bleeding control, seizures, epi-pen, allergic reactions, broken bones, burns, and other life threatening emergencies. You can cancel your course anytime by emailing us back that you cannot attend. On the day of the class, students will be issued the AHA first aid certification card, which is good for 2 years. The first-aid training is for initial takers or for renewing people. Payment is done on the day of the course.
Audience: This list of professions are required to have this training: teachers and coaches, foster care parents, parents, au pairs, & social workers.
Important: Don’t sign up for this training if you need EMSA/Title 22 certification for child care.

You can find lots of parking garages near the office, and the parking is free on Sundays in Berkeley and Oakland. The closest Bart station is called Downtown Berkeley BART, which is 2 blocks away.
First-aid Training Guide
People will receive the guide after the seminar.

Online First-aid Training
Beware of the internet scam called online first-aid classes. There are a few unscrupulous companies that provide first-aid classes over the computer. This sort of class is not accepted for any type of job requirement and you would not receive an official American Heart Association certification card.
