These BLS CPR classes are for renewal or first-time students. The official name for this courses is American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider. However, it is usually shortened to AHA BLS, AHA BLS for HCP, BCLS, or simply BLS. The subjects covered in this 4 hour class are: Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR, 2 person CPR, how to use a pocket mask, how to use a bag valve mask (BVM) and how to use an AED (Automated external defibrillator). After attend this BLS course, students will receive their official American Heart Association certification. Since Berkeley CPR Classes is an official American Heart Association Training Site, we are able to issue the BLS cards on the day of the class. Other CPR companies mail out the card which can take 2-4 weeks for you to receive it. Many people working in the healthcare profession need their BLS card right away so it is nice that you can go home with your card.
